This policy explains what we do with personal information when you use the VDI Check service by texting a vehicle registration to 78111, or when you visit this website. Please read it alongside our Terms and Conditions.

The VDI Check service on 78111 is operated by VDI Check Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15451937, whose registered office is 5 Brayford Square, London, E1 0SG. We are the data controller for the information described in this policy, and we are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under registration number ZC087450.

To answer your check we obtain vehicle records from the sources listed in section 4. Those records are about the vehicle, not about you, and we do not receive information about the vehicle's registered keeper.

Our systems are hosted in the United Kingdom. Where advertising measurement involves Meta, some information may be transferred to the United States. Those transfers are made under the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the European Commission's standard contractual clauses, which is a transfer mechanism recognised under UK data protection law.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

This site uses the Meta pixel, which sets cookies (_fbp) and reads an advertising click identifier (_fbc) so that Meta can tell us whether people who saw our advert went on to use the service. These are advertising cookies and are not necessary for the site to work.

Our visitor counting does not use cookies and does not store your IP address.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. You can also control how Meta uses information about you in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.

9. Marketing

If you have used the service, we may occasionally text you about similar services. Every such message tells you how to stop, and you can reply STOP at any time to any message from 78111. We will act on that immediately and permanently. We do not pass your number to other companies for their marketing.

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Where a change materially affects how we use your information, we will make that clear.
